Vintage UNIQUE Wooden Poker Chip Set Round & Rectangular Plaques Made in Italy

I have no idea how old this set is or what its history is. At first glance this wooden poker chip set could be mistaken for a brown jug. The unique set is relatively clean, free of any chips, cracks or breaks and it is in good condition. There is some light scratching and signs of wear on the wood especially on the inside base where the chip racks rest. I did not attempt to brighten or restore the wood but simply dusted it. The set has several what appear to be Italian coins embedded in to the wood and there are two coins missing on the threaded cap that holds the set together. Some of the thin plastic chips show signs of wear.
