Auctioning what appears to be a Teddy Roosevelt-King T. King set of poker chips. A complete set of 400 chips in what appears to be the original storage case.
The latches to close this have a patent date from 1960. We believe these chips are married to the case, and therefore from the same time period. The poker chips are of three colors yellow / orange / brown. All of which are monogrammed on both sides with the letters PDN, hot stamped in gold foil, and finished with the small crown (scrown) mold T. Each chip weighs 9 grams or approx.
7.94 pounds for all 400, total weight with case, approx. It appears also through careful examination that these chips are only slightly used. At least to the naked eye anyway. They are vintage, and if you put them under magnification you'll most likely find something to nit pick about in a set of 400 chips. R King to our understanding, was known to have made chips for illegal casinos and card houses.
We found this set here in southern California some years back, but found little else to say about them. Lastly the storage case is complete and functional but shows wear most notably to the metal latches, hinges, and the cracking to the leather handle. Storage area for cards underneath chips.
