Unusual Art Deco Bakelite Bull Dog Poker Chip Set With Original Chips

The holder is round in shape and has a wonderful figure of a bull dog that is used for the handle. The bull dog is bakelite that has been painted. It has red glass eyes that give the dog a somewhat sinister look.

The dog is poking his head up from a barrel. The bull dog has no damage. No chips or cracks to the plastic. Some of the paint has worn off over time. You can see this on the dog's nose.

The bakelite chips are interesting as well. They come in five colors. There is green (31 chips), blue (26), red (29) yellow (31) and white (34). The chips are original to the set.

Each color has a different degree of translucence. Some are more so than the others. Red is the most see through and the white chips are opaque.

The holder is painted wood. There are areas where some paint is worn off through age and use. There are no cracks or chips to the wood.

When the top is off the chip holder spins for easy use. Under one stack of chips is a small label that says King, New York.

The set measures about 8 inches in diameter and is about 7 inches tall with the bull dog. The chips are about 1 1/2 inches in diameter. This is a very nice and rare set. Thank you for your interest.
