For your consideration is a vintage set of 396 clay poker chips with a unique oak carrying case. This is an amazing set that is a rare estate find. Both sides of each clay chip are engraved with the names of famous casinos in Las Vegas. Half of these casino names are permanently closed for business, thus making this set of chips are rare find. The following casino names are engraved on each chip. Ceasars Palace, MGM Grand, Stardust (which closed November 1, 2006), Sands, Riveria (which closed for business May 4, 2015), Circus Circus, the Aladdin (which closed November 25, 1997), and Dunes (which closed in October of 1993). It is interesting to note that clay poker chips are not made from 100% clay. Theyre actually made from a composite that includes clay, but is much more durable than clay alone. Also, casino chips are actually harder to forge than American currency. Each casino chip is designed to have a certain weight, texture, and feel. These chips have surface wear and some have small chips commensurate with use. The case is in very good condition, with no structural damage. Weight of Case and Chips: 16 pounds.
