Noble Games Poker Chip Set 491 Bud Jones Chips David R Ripley Designer 1999
Scarce poker chip set from Noble Games, made in 1999 and limited to 300 sets, of which this is number 33. The case is a high quality hardwood, and inside the case are leather inlays spade, diamond, club, heart, etc.. The chips were apparently made by Bud Jones company, of a high quality injection-molded plastic. There are a total of 491 chips, 94 Purple, 150 Green, 147 Blue, and 100 Gray probably 6 of the purple and 3 blue have gone missing, which would have added up to an even 500. My scale is not accurate to the tenth of a gram, but by weighing 10 chips, each chip appears to weigh in at approximately 8.6 to 8.7 grams. Noble Games made some of the finest board games in the world. The games, designed by David R. Ripley, were manufactured in the USA using hardwoods and leather. The company was headquartered in Bismark, North Dakota, and is no longer in business. The two card sets are unused and still shrink wrapped, the chips are in very good condition. The previous owner was a bit careless with the case, especially the outside, as the wood shows moderate wear in places with some areas of abrasion and light to heavy/deep scratches. A small patch of one of the leather inlays, the top edge above the heart, is a little wrinkled, I think from the lid having been closed with a chip poking up into the leather there possibly for many years.
