The design is known to collectors as Rams Head (PA-RM) and the design appeared as early as 1908 in the U. (Cincinnati) catalog of gambling supplies. The set displays beautifully in the rectangular solid wood caddy with a clear lacquer finish that accentuates the wood grain. Each slot in the caddy is filled with 26 Rams Head chips for a total of more than 100 red, white and blue chips.
The caddy includes two slots for decks of paying cards and for display purposes, this set includes two decks of Bicycle playing cards from the U. Complete sets like this are hard to find in this condition!
These items would make a great display for the poker or game collector or would make a great gift for the poker enthusiast. This set is in excellent used condition. The caddy is solidly built and has no significant damage with only the most minor signs of wear. The clay poker chips are susceptible to "dings" but I see no serious damage.
The white chips show a patina achieved only from age and use that accentuates the embossed design. The playing cards are like new and one is an unopened box. Please see photos for details on condition.
